Crystal’s girl’s golf team is in their 2nd year, led by coach John Fraher, competing as an official team of the league. They exceeded expectations in the 2022 season, placing 2nd in league and WBALs, making it all the way to CCS. Here are the members who made it all possible.

Mia R. ‘24:

Mia, our star captain, is a great leader and mentor for our team. On and off the course, she always brings a fun and stress-free attitude that allows all of us to be ourselves around her. As a member of Crystal Golf all four years of high school, she has been a committed player to the program and the team. Also, being the oldest on the team, we can always look to her for advice and guidance, whether it be on or off the course. Mia always works hard on her game and sacrifices time outside of school to get better. Our coach and team always appreciate that she puts in extra time and effort for the benefit of our team. Although she is a senior this year, she will always be remembered for her leadership and dedication to our program. We will dearly miss her next year!

Olivia L. ‘25:

Olivia, one of the juniors on our team, is a fun and enthusiastic golfer. Rain or shine, she always has a big smile on her face and is ready at any moment to make anyone laugh. Although she has been slightly injured this year, she is powering through and playing some amazing golf, helping lead our team to victory. Her passion for the sport is infectious and inspirational. She is not only a great leader, but she is also a wonderful teammate who is always there cheering us on. She has been a member of the Crystal Girl’s golf program since before its start and her experience makes her a great mentor. We can’t wait to have her again next year for her senior year!

Sapphire C. ‘25:

Sapphire, one of the two juniors on the team, is a cute, fun-loving addition to our team. She is always there to cheer us up with her funny jokes and crazy stories. Having been a part of our team for two years now, she has always brought great enthusiasm and positivity. She has put so much work into her golf game and has greatly improved in just a short amount of time. Everyone always enjoys being around her, because no matter what, she will always get you to laugh. Sapphire is a great leader and mentor for the younger girls. She is always willing to talk to us, whether it be on or off the course. We always appreciate her and can’t wait to have her again as a senior next year!

Claire Z. ‘26:

Claire, one of the sophomores, shines as an amazing young golfer. New to our school just last year, she has made an amazing impact on the program and the team. She shot off to an amazing high school golf career as a freshman, already having won the WBAL MVP award, and continues to be a key player on our team. Claire is someone that everyone constantly wants to be around because she always knows how to cheer us up. She always has interesting and funny stories from her eventful days at school, and she is always there to cheer us on at the course. Wherever she is, we can always feel the love and support she gives us. She is an amazing teammate with an intense passion for golf. We can’t wait to have her on the team again for the next two years!

Alexa Z. ‘26:

Alexa is a hardworking golfer, always striving for the best. Our assistant coach, Katarina Mays, calls her a “perfectionist,” and this is constantly reflected in the way she performs on the course. She is dependable, consistent, and a great teammate. Off the course, Alexa never fails to make the team laugh with her clever jokes. She is independent but enjoys her time with the team. She is an incredible addition to the team and her dedication to being a teammate and to the game of golf do not go unnoticed. As a sophomore this year, we are excited to have her join us again and continue to thrive in future seasons.

Keira Z. ‘26:

Whether it is random cartwheeling or forming hearts with her arms from across the course, Keira is a joy to be around. She has played some amazing golf this year, shooting exceptionally scores. Her consistent work ethic is exhibited through her performance this year. As one of the 3 sophomores on the team, she has many more games to play and her future is bright. Alexa and Keira are an incredible addition to the team and we are so glad that they decided to join us in freshman year; these two form a dynamic and inseparable duo.  Both are in their second year on the team, they are the glue that holds the team together and steers us toward victory. We love Keira as a bubbly, entertaining teammate and we can’t wait to have her back next year!

The girl’s golf team is always a fun environment to be in and we always look forward to practice. The upperclassmen create a safe and comfortable environment for the underclassmen where we can all thrive and have fun.
