Have you ever met someone you instantly connected with and felt like you were the same person in a different body? Maybe you met someone who also made up their own language or orders a venti iced coffee with 12 pumps of sugar-free vanilla, 5 pumps of sugar-free caramel sauce, and a splash of soy milk every morning. Whatever it is, you’ve just experienced twin energy. You don’t need the same DNA to have your own twin. Maybe there is someone right here on campus who matches your energy perfectly. Twins can roast each other with Olympic-level accuracy, communicate entire paragraphs with one side-eye, and fight over a hoodie just to be laughing together ten minutes later.
Here are some unforgettable twin duos:
Romulus and Remus:
Romulus and Remus are famous Roman mythology figures who are credited with founding Rome. They were notorious for being fun, dramatic, and wild. Raised by a she-wolf with mythical flair, they were destined for greatness as fated founders of one of the greatest ancient cities. They had shared character traits such as charisma, bravery, and instinct. In today’s terms, they are part fantasy, part adventure, and part reality TV. Unfortunately, it did not end well for these particular twins. Due to a fight over where to build Rome, Romulus ended up killing Remus. But that is a sidebar to this famous twin story; they were more bonded than enemies. Roman mythology had to get in extra drama somehow!
Orville and Wilbur Wright:
Oveille and Wilber are credited with inventing the first airplane. They were both infatuated with the possibility of flight. Obsessed with mechanics and problem solving, they collaborated on absolutely everything. Their efforts were deeply cooperative, born out of a twin-synergy. When there were credits and awards, each twin pointed to the other as deserving the accolade. They shared a tiny workshop, a motivation, and one of the greatest inventions in history.
Fred and George Weasley (Harry Potter):
Fred and George were a pair of consummate pranksters. They are incredibly bonded and similar. Equal masters in mischief, chaos followed wherever they went. Together, they even made a business out of their elaborate humor. They relished in fun schemes that terrified half of Hogwarts. Their connection was so strong that even when George was lost, Fred continued on their legacy with the power of his twin-energy.
