From traveling to a different continent, to spending time with loved ones to getting ahead of school work, Thanksgiving break is an exciting time. Read along to find out what your peers will be doing and what they are most thankful for!
Caroline Readey ‘28
Caroline will be traveling to Carmel, CA, to spend time with her family for the break. There, she will play a round of golf, play tennis, spend time at the beach with her family and dogs, and go on hikes. On Thanksgiving Day, she will participate in the annual turkey trot with her family and later go to dinner.
What are you thankful for?
Caroline is most thankful for her dogs, her family, and her community.
Sitara Choubey ‘29
Sitara will be flying to Vienna, Austria, for her aunt’s wedding. The wedding, which is a formal black tie event, will be celebrated in the museum where the famous painting, “The Kiss”, is held. At night, she will walk around and explore the various night markets for which Vienna is known. On Thanksgiving, she will be celebrating at her Aunt’s house with guests flying in from all around the world.
What are you thankful for?
Sitara is most thankful for friends and family.
Eric Cheung ‘28
Eric will be spending his break in Monterey, CA, competing in the Junior Tour of Northern California Golf Tournament (JTNC) with fellow Crystal student Arden Xu ‘27. His goal is to “have fun” as he “does not care about his score”. On Thanksgiving day, he will spend time with his close family and cousins, eating his favorite food, Turkey.
What are you thankful for?
Eric is most thankful for the “world around me”, his sister, and Taylor Swift.
Bethany Wong ‘26
Bethany will be voyaging on a cruise ship down south, starting in Florida. She will be making a few stops along the way, in the Caribbean, as she loves to tan and enjoy water activities. On Thanksgiving Day, she will be spending time with her family, living it up on the cruise ship.
What are you thankful for?
Bethany is most thankful for her friends and family, because of all the “amazing memories [she has] made with them!!”
Desi Ach ‘28
Desi will be representing Crystal at the California Cross Country State Meet in Fresno, CA. He will be running the 5k on Saturday and plans on driving up with the team on Friday. They will run through the course, later eating dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, playing poker in the hotel, and resting before race day, Saturday.
What are you thankful for?
Desi is most thankful for running and making states, his friends, and his sister Livi.
Finn Vos ‘27
Finn will first be spending his break at a swim meet in Concord, CA, where it is extremely hot. For the rest of the break, he will be working, checking if household appliances are costing homeowners extra money. On Thanksgiving Day, his family will visit his cousin’s house, where they will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.
What are you thankful for?
Finn is most thankful for his friends and his family.
Casey Louie ‘28
Casey will be staying in the Bay Area during break; however, she may go snowboarding if there are signs of snow in Lake Tahoe. She will also be celebrating Asian Friendsgiving with her friend group, where everyone brings a traditional dish, as well as going black friday shopping at Valley Fair and ice skating at Central Park. For Thanksgiving, her whole family will celebrate at her grandmother’s house in San Francisco.
What are you thankful for?
Casey is most thankful for family, friends, teachers, food, clothes, and her dog, Clue.
With an entire week of school off, each Crystal student has a unique plan for Thanksgiving Break. No matter what adventure you embark on during this week, I truly hope each and every person has time for relaxation, to spend with loved ones, and to give thanks!
